Exclusive Stories for You!

Things are happening!
I am working on a complete relaunch of my fiction. What does that mean? I am recovering, editing, and, in some cases, adding new scenes to all of my fiction works.

First up - Transcend! It's getting a breath-taking new cover and is being released in audio book format. The narrator, Ian Gordon, is amazing. Everything should be ready for a grant re-release in late November.

After that, the Solomon Experiments will be finished, with books 2 and 3 expecting to release in early 2016. The books, including Collide, are getting a stunning new look, as well as audio book production. I anticipate the releases to be monthly, starting in January with a re-release of Collide. The Requiem Series will also get an amazing overhaul, with new covers, new titles and greatly expanded stories for books 2 and 3. My goal is starting the releases in Spring, right after the Solomon Experiments.

In addition to the relaunches, I have several new stories in various stages of completion. It…

Making Peace with My Process

I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by amazing people in my personal and professional lives. Writers who produce high-quality books at a Patterson-like pace. Consultants who develop Ted Talk like workshops and speeches. Friends who are able to spontaneously reach out and connect with others better than those with PR teams. I feel so blessed.

And sometimes, I feel inadequate.

Okay, maybe I drift into feelings of inadequacy more often than I would like.

Here's what I've come to discover, though: my process is different than the people I mentioned above. Not better, not worse, just different. I don't write at the furious pace some of my author friends muster. That just isn't how I work. Could I be more efficient and produce more than I current produce - yes. But will I ever produce 5+ books every single year? Probably not.

When it comes to speaking, I am good - and while I might not spend the copious amounts of time my friends spend on their preparation, I know my talen…

Do you dream in color?

Those of you who know me know that I like to write vivid scenes. There is a simple reason for this - most of my books start off as dreams. Not the flat, black/white dreams most people think of when then think of dreaming. But Blockbuster, Full-Action, Movies that play in an endless loop in my head. Stories so full and real it takes me a minute after I've woken up to realize they were a dream.

Most of my dreaming happens at night. But when I am working on a particular piece, the scenes pop into my daydreams as well. In fact, every one of my books has had at least one of the scenes play out in my dreams first. I could be sitting at my desk, or more often in my car, thinking about nothing in particular when...
WHAM!
I am transported into a daydream ripped from my current WIP. It is in this state that I generally solve the nagging questions, get myself out of plot traps, or discover new, deeper, levels to the story.

Over the past several months, I have not had these dreams - at night …

Collide Is A Finalist

Many of you have heard about Collide becoming a finalist in the 2015 Kindle Book Awards. But if you didn't hear about - here is the scoop.

I entered Collide on a whim, really. I love the book, but it hasn't really gained the traction I hoped it would. Now, as I really work on the sequel (a previously abandoned miss that really needs to get
finished), I am loving the storytelling again. I was thrilled when it made it into the semi-finals. And when I found out that it had made it into the finals - the top five in each category - I was blown-away. The timing of the news was perfect, helping me to move forward on the project and not abandon it.

Thursday I'll find out who wins the Kindle Book Awards in each category. I am hopeful and content with whatever the outcome may be. Making it this far has been fabulous. Especially when the judges of the award have stated that the field is very competitive this year.

Regardless of how things turn out, I am busy working on Outbreak. I a…

Feeling Rejuvenated!

I've been gone for a long time. In truth, I have been trying to decide what blogging means to me. Heck, what writing means to me. In the process, I've changed my day-job, pulling that part of myself more into alignment with the things that are important to me. I've also freed up time for writing, blogging, etc. In short, I've been going through a ton of change.
All good, I assure you. But something that has taken quite a bit of time and contemplation. In the end, I think I have figured out the "why" behind my writing and coaching careers - something I've been searching for.
More on that in future posts. This post is simply to say I'm back. My goal is to post with more regularity - 1-3 times/weekly depending on what is going on in my life. In addition, I am sharing links about creativity and writing daily on my Facebook author page. If you aren't following it, you may want to go and give it a like.
I plan to post my thoughts related to writing, th…

Changes, changes

Wow - I deserted the blog, didn't I. I can assure you that wasn't my intent. More than once I have thought about sitting down and blogging. And then life happened...

Anyway, as summer winds toward an end and I plan to head back to the day job in a few weeks, I am also planning on more blogging and revamping both this site and my website a bit.

So, planning on seeing a few more posts and a lot of moving around of things as I spruce things up.
