Author Spotlight: Lisa Gail Green

Time for more Author Spotlights! This was supposed to post yesterday. But, as you have likely noticed, I have been a little absent of late. The truth, the creeping crud caught up with me. Yuck!!! But, I am happy to report that I am on the mend and finally back to blogging. At least a little bit.

So, today, I bring a belated Author Spotlight featuring the ever-fabulous, Lisa Gail Green.

Before I introduce Lisa's books, here is a little more about her:

Lisa Gail Green writes paranormal and fantasy. She lives with her rocket scientist husband and three junior mad scientists in Southern California. The first novel in her Djinn series, THE BINDING STONE, is now available! She would most definitely have a werewolf for a pet if she weren't allergic.

My favorite part of the Author Spotlights are the wacky Q&A I make them do! Here are Lisa's answers:

Your main villain has decided to take over traditional Christmas traditions. Tell me what he/she does to make the holiday different (…

Cover Reveal: Ali Cross's BLOOD CROWN

To say I am a little excited to be part of Ali Cross's cover reveal is a serious understatement. Her books are not only AMAZING - but Ali is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met. True Story!

Before I get to her cover, here is a little more about BLOOD CROWN:

BLOOD CROWN by ALI CROSS

Serantha is the daughter of the Emperor of the West, who rules over the remnant of humanity who escaped a dying Earth and took to the stars a thousand years ago. With no habitable planets found during their exile, the android Servants who were supposed to care for them rose up, took the name of Mind, and murdered her father. Now the androids amuse themselves by forcing humans like her into mindless drudgery. But flashes of memory hint that Sera is no ordinary human.

On the other side of the galaxy, Nicolai, Son of the East, has abandoned his crown and joined the rebel forces in the war against the Mind. Humans have no real chance... unless the enhanced DNA developed by the Blood Crown scientis…

Author Spotlight: Ednah Walters

Time for more Author Spotlights! Today, I bring you Ednah Walters! I've had so much fun getting to know Ednah and her books over the past year. She is something special, as I am certain you will agree.

Here is a little bit about her most recent release, Grimnirs (a Runes Book)

"Torin St. James better step up his game because Echo's in town and just took the spotlight! Hot, beautiful, and cocky is not all you'll get after meeting Echo! He's up for a challenge and set on stealing the Runes series title “Best Book Crush!”" ~ Julia Hendrix @ As You Wish Reviews

Straight out of the psych ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The guy she’s loved from a distance for years moves away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing.The connection defies logic…

My Break and How It Breathed New Life Into Me

Wow! It's been a while since I've posted something other than a review or a spotlight. In fact, I pretty much ignored my blog all together last week. The break was unexpected; family wound up coming over for more days than expected. So I did something I NEVER do - I took a break. A real break. From everything.

I didn't worry about writing, or promoting, or blogging, or the next books I need to focus on, or the day job or anything. I even stayed offline for the most part. I simply enjoyed my family, cooked a TON of food, decorated the house - inside and out. And played. Yep. Played.

It's been a very long time since I have completely abandoned everything I had going on and just vegged with family. And you know what - it was EPIC!

I needed the time away, the perspective. I needed to reconnect with those most important to me. But most importantly, I needed the clarity that comes from taking the time to breathe and connect with others.

This break gave me perspective and exc…

Author Spotlight: Ellen Booraem

Time for more Author Spotlights! Today, I bring you Ellen Booraem. I've had so much fun getting to know Ellen for this post. She is truly amazing, and if you haven't checked out her books, you are missing out.

Here is a little bit about her most recent release, Texting The Underworld [love that title]:

BROOKLIN, Maine—What would it take to bring out the hero in a naturally fearful person?

Which is worse: Losing a loved one or dying yourself?

Those are two of the questions facing 12-year-old Conor O’Neil, the protagonist (some would
say “hero”) of TEXTING THE UNDERWORLD, Ellen Booraem’s latest fantasy for ages 10-14.
Published by the Penguin imprint Dial Books for Young Readers, the book hit bookstores
August 15, 2013.

As of late June, Kirkus Reviews had given the new book a starred review. The Horn Book praised
it for “complex characters, a moving story line centered on family and courage, and plenty of
exciting moments.”

Conor, a perpetual scaredy-cat, has the fright of his li…
